How to write strong resume bullet points
- 01
Start with an action verb
Led, built, cut, grew, launched, trained. Not "responsible for" or "helped with", which hide what you actually did.
- 02
Say what changed
The result of the work: faster, cheaper, more sales, fewer errors, happier customers. Duties describe a job; results describe you.
- 03
Add a number
How many, how much, how often, by what percent. Even rough numbers ("about 60 calls a day") make a bullet believable.
- 04
Keep it to one line
12 to 25 words. Three to five bullets per job, strongest first.
Before and after
Before: "Responsible for social media"
Grew Instagram from 8,000 to 65,000 followers in a year with short-form video and creator partnerships
Before: "Answered customer calls"
Handled 60+ calls a day about billing and plans, keeping a 96% customer satisfaction score
Before: "Worked on the website"
Rebuilt the checkout page in React, raising mobile conversion by 18%
Questions
- How many bullet points per job?
- Three to five for recent jobs, one or two for older ones. Put the most impressive first.
- What if I don't have numbers?

- Either is fine. Just be consistent across the whole resume.

- Yes, no sign-up. You get 10 free generations a day across our free tools.
